About Me

My therapeutic approach is warm, emotions focused, and experiential. As a clinician, I strive to create a safe and supportive space (LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC friendly) for my clients to process their emotions and to explore patterns.

Through compassionate listening and empathetic understanding, I help my clients to navigate life's complexities, develop coping strategies, and build meaningful relationships with themselves and others.


I often work with smart and motivated individuals who feel unfulfilled or anxious despite having achieved various societal markers of success. If you are dealing with a major life transition, relationship challenges, grief, childhood trauma, or pet loss, I am here to support you.

I draw from evidence based modalities like EMDR, AEDP, DBTMotivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Relational Psychodynamics.

How can I schedule a session with you?

I currently practice at the Nelson Lacy Group under the supervision of Joseph (Jamie) Lacy, LCSW-R. You can reach out to me at lia.aviva.blady@gmail.com or by phone at 646-504-4257. 

 

Together we will find a time for our initial session.  

How many therapy sessions will I need?

Therapy is not one size fits all. How many sessions you will need depends on a variety of individual factors, including your severity of symptoms and the frequency and consistency of therapy sessions. We will work together to assess your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed in order to ensure the best possible outcomes for you.

Can I use my insurance for therapy?

The Nelson Lacy Group is an out-of-network provider. If your insurance plan has out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for a partial or full reimbursement from your insurance provider. I am happy to provide you with therapy invoices at the end of each month so that you can submit a request for reimbursement from your insurance provider.

 

You can check your coverage by contacting your insurance provider and asking the following questions:

  1. Do I have out of network mental health (or behavioral health) benefits?

  2. What is my out of network deductible and has it been met?

  3. After the deductible is met, what is the coverage amount (or percentage) per therapy session?

Can I use my FSA/HSA to pay for therapy?

Yes, you can use your FSA or HSA card to pay for your therapy sessions.
